Welcome back to Hump Day Update, the place to find out everything you need to know about what’s been going on in the entertainment world for the week. I’m Rachel A.G. Gilman. But enough about me, let’s get to the news.
In her new documentary, “Simple Complicated,” Demi Lovato reveals what it’s like to try to handle her dating life in the last year when she’s been having fun doing the single thing. The dark twist is there isn’t actually anything fun about being single and everyone should stop trying to pretend like that’s a thing.
Jared Padalecki of The CW’s “Supernatural” shared this week that he would be totally down for the show to do an entire season with a Scooby-Doo theme. I guess you know a show has definitely been on the air too long when that suggestion is popular enough it’s covered in television journalism outlets.
Niall Horan has released clips from two new songs that he will be releasing this Friday, hoping to entice fans for the full-length project later this week. Seems like someone is using a little bit too much of that Irish hospitality when trying to market his album, but hey, we’ll take it.
Kevin James finally spoke this week on the controversial removal of Erin Hayes’s character on “Kevin Can Wait” on CBS, saying that the writers of the show had run out of things to do with the character to keep the plot moving. Sure, seems like a good idea to blame the creator brains behind your lines. If they used their pens to kill off one character, Kevin, who’s to say they won’t do it again to yet another?
Sia is working on releasing some holiday-related music and to celebrate is making sure that Maddie Ziegler is getting an appropriate makeover in the process for the new tunes. Seeing as Sia is already the queen of all things big and all things bowed, I don’t think it’s going to be any surprise what we might see Maddie covered in from head to toe.
On The CW’s “Jane the Virgin,” we saw that Jane and Rafael might be able to figure out how to co-parent, but they’re nowhere near figuring out any kind of relationship status for themselves, not with child raising disagreements in the picture. That’s okay, as long as we still find the occasional reason Rafael to show up, take a shower, and showcase those glorious abs every once in awhile, am I right?
P!nk and Eminem have a new song together on her latest release, “Beautiful Trauma.” So if you ever wondered what two of the angstiest people sound like when making music together, your questions now have answers.
Brad Garrett is going to featured in upcoming episodes of “Bull” on CBS with Michael Weatherly, and in doing press said that there will most likely not be a reunion for his old show, “Everybody Loves Raymond,” stating that the loss of the parents and having run out of storylines wouldn’t allow for anymore more to be told. Hey, I thought it was just because no one wanted to hear Raymond whine anymore but sure, we’ll go with his story.
And finally, Joe Jonas got engaged this week, and the hearts of many young women sighed in realizing that their teenage crush is now kind of officially becoming an adult. Meanwhile, those of us who were Team Nick are still free to pretended that such things are maturity are far out in front of us.
Hope you enjoyed this week! See you back here again next Wednesday. Hopefully you have survived through your midterms and can finally do something fun for fall 🙂
