Dara Quilty is one half of Dublin duo Apella, who stormed Irish radio this summer with their debut single “We Met At A Party,” which has also been viewed over 15 million times on YouTube. Speaking of radio, Quilty is not only a musician but also an award-winning DJ at 98FM in Dublin, as well as a former TV host on national Irish broadcaster RTE. Alongside drummer Ronan Nolan, the band has found quick success, supporting Foo Fighters and Paramore, and playing support for Twenty One Pilots in both Belfast as well as their native Dublin. The band sold out the legendary Dublin venue Whelan’s for their debut headlining show in late October and followed it up with the new single “Graceful Dancer.” Quilty was in New York recently and visited WNYU for a live set and interview.
