Whether you like it or not, Electronic Dance Music, aka EDM, has made its mark on the East Coast. From the IDentity Festival to Electric Daisy, you’ll see college students spending hundreds of dollars on festival passes (while they complain about over-priced textbooks and Metrocard fees).
Roll your eyes if you want, but you know you can’t deny a genre with such a big presence.
While 2012 has been jam packed with EDM events, including Electric Daisy Carnival’s East Coast debut, Electric Zoo remains as one of the most anticipated festivals this year. This time around, headliners include Tiesto, David Guetta, Benny Benassi, Steve Aoki, and Pretty Lights. If you’re looking for something different, you should check out Kavinsky, Apparat, Dirtyphonics, Mord Fustang, and Porter Robinson.

It has been a four-year tradition for NYU students to cap off their summer on Randall’s Island. If you haven’t noticed already, Electric Zoo is definitely one of the most talked-about festival among students. By the looks of the lineup and great weather forecast, this year is bound to be just as exciting as it ever was.
